Ingredients:
- 1/4 tsp green cardamom powder
- a few strands saffron
- 250 gms cottage cheese (paneer)
- 2 tblsp refined flour (maida)
- 1 tsp crushed pistachios (for garnishing)
- 1 cup sugar
- water as required
Method:
- Heat 1 cup water in a pan , put and heat sugar in it to make a thin syrup.
- Knead the paneer with flour and shape into oval shaped fingers, mix in them to the sugar syrup and boil for eight minutes.
- Take off from heat.
- Cool for a while and take off the chum-chums from the syrup.
Garnishing:
There are variants of chum chum , based on the garnishing types.
Chum chums shown in the figure above are grated with crushed pistachios.
Grated coconut can also be used for garnishing.
There is an another altrenative, we can mix in saffron and cardamom powder to 100gm sugarless, creamy, condensed milk. And spread this on each piece. It will resemble little bit like rasmalai.
