Ingredients:
- 3 - 4 medium potatoes
- 3/ 4 cup fresh or frozen green peas shelled
- 1 tblsp green chillies chopped.
- 1 small bunch of fresh spinach
- 1 tsp chaat masala
- 1 tbsp ginger chopped
- oil for deep frying
- 2 tbsp coriander leaves chopped
- 2 tbsp corn flour
- salt to taste
Method:
- Wash the potatoes , boil and peel off.
- Grate the boiled potatoes.
- Boil the green peas, drain and rinse with water properly , and mash the peas.
- Wash spinach leaves properly 2-3 time in water.
- Blanch spinach leaves in plenty of salted boiling water and finely chop.
- Take out spinach leaves and squeeze out excess water.
- Mix grated potatoes, peas and spinach.
- Mix in cut green chillies, cut coriander leaves, cut ginger, chaat masala and salt.
- Mix in cornflour for binding.
- Divide the mixture into equal handfull portions.
- Shape them into a ball and then press it in between your palms to give it a pattie / tikki shape.
- Heat up sufficient oil in a kadhai.
- Deep-fry the tikkis in hot oil for 3-4 minutes or until crisp.
- Serve Tikki with Tomato Ketchup or Coriander Chutney
