Tomato Sauce Recipe

Tomato sauce is one of the most important accompanients and almost fits with many of the dishes. Be it pizza, chapatis, paratha , burgers ..... It finds a corner in the plate for itself

This particular home-made recipe doesn't contains any preservative, and cann't be stored for long.
This is to be used instantly to max 1-2 days if refrigerated.

Ingredients:


  • 1 Kg Tomatoes (Tamatar) 
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red chilli powder (Lal mirchi) 
  • 1/2 cup Sugar  
  • 2 Cloves (Lavang) 
  • 1 small Onion
  • 1 small piece Cinnamon (Dalchini) 
  • 20 grams Ginger (Adrak) (1-2 tsps chopped) 
  • 5 cloves Garlic (Lasun) 
  • 8 Tablespoon white Vinegar (Sirka) 
  • 2 teaspoons Salt (Namak) 


Method:


  1. Rinse well with water and chop tomatoes. 
  2. Peel and chop the onions, garlic and ginger. 
  3. Crush all the spices(Cloves,Cinnamon) into coarse granules. 
  4. Put tomatoes, onion, garlic ,ginger in a wok or deep utensil and cook over a low heat till tomatoes turn soft. 
  5. Add crushed spices, sugar, chilli powder , white vinegar and cook till the mixute becomes thick. 
  6. Strain through a steel strainer pressing with some spoon . 
  7. Put on low flame for another 1-2 minutes
  8. Tomato sauce is ready to be used
  9. This sauce cannot be stored.
