Vegetable Burger Recipe - how to make Vegetable Burger?



Burger is a predominantly an American Cuisine but it has widespread popularity across globe.
This recipe details how to make Veg-Burger

Preparation Time: 30 Minutes
Cooking Time : 10 Minutes
Serves : 4

Ingredients:


  • Potatoes boiled and mashed- 3 Large or 4 Mediun
  • Carrots 4 - peeled and chopped
  • Cauliflower florets 1 cup
  • Frozen or fresh Green peas -1/2 cup
  • French beans  10-12
  • Ginger Garlic Paste 1 Tablespoon
  • Green chillies 4
  • Salt to taste
  • Refined flour (maida) 1 cup
  • Bread crumbs 1 cup
  • Oil - 1/2 Litre minimum to deep fry
  • Bread buns 4
  • Butter - 1 Tablespoon
  • Cabbage leaf - 1 wide piece


Method:

  1. Boil carrots, cauliflower, green peas and French beans. Cool and then mince finely.
  2. Add mashed potatoes, ginger garlic paste, green chillies and salt and mix well. 
  3. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a round pattie or tikia.
  4. Put water into refine flour and make a thick batter by mixing well.
  5. Dip each pattie in the batter and then uniformly coat with breadcrumbs.
  6. Heat oil in a deep pan and deep fry the patties or tikias on medium heat until they turn golden brown. Drain and place them on an absorbent paper.
  7. Cut bread buns into half (horizontally into 2 circles and not semicircles). 
  8. Heat a griddle or tawa, put little butter . 
  9. Put half buns on tawa to absorve some butter.
  10. Put the vegetable pattie in between the bread buns,
  11. You can put a layer of cheese , and cabbage leaf in intermediate layers.(Optional)
  12.  Top with a slice of onion, tomato and cucumber and serve hot.


Note /Tips:

  • You can also apply a layer of coriander chutney(mashed and water grinded coriander leaves) in the inside surface of buns to give a unique flavour.
  • Instead of heating the buns on tawa , you can heat in microwave as well
  • A thin roll of fresh cream can also be put along with other toppings but it will make it more rich in calories :)
