This is a sweet dumpling recipe. It is popular dessert during Ramadan period
Dough Ingredients:
- 4 cups of refined flour or maida
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1 tsp yeast
- pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp baking bowder
- Oil for frying
Syrup Ingredients:
- 2 cups of sugar
- 1 tsp rose water
- 1 cup of water
- 1 tbsp of lemon juice
Method:
- Take all the Syrup ingredients mix and bring to boil
- Allow Syrup to cool till room temp
- Add the flour,salt, water, milk, and yeast. Mix everything well to get a thick batter
- Leave the batter overnight or atleast 5-6 hours, till fermentation happens and there is a rise.
- Now add 1 egg, little baking powder and mix well.
- Heat oil in a frying pan or thick based wok.
- Use a small laddle or tablespoon to put batter in form of balls inside oil.
- Deep fry untill it turns golden brown color.
- Take considerable oil to cover Dumplings completely.
- Take out the dumplings using slotted spoon to drain excess oil.
- Soak the dumplings inside cold syrup and serve.
