Parwal Ki Mithai | Stuffed Pointed Gourd Sweets

Ingredients:

  • 250 Parwal or Pointed Gourd
  • 250 Khoya(Mawa)- Typical condensed/solidified milk
  • 2 tablespoons milk powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 10 almonds (finely chopped)
  • Pista 10 (finely chopped)
  • 4-5 saffron threads
  • 3-4 cardamom crushed to powder
  • 1-2 silver foil


Method:


  1. Carefully peel the pulp, cut the parwal at oneside ,lengthwise from one tip to another and remove its seeds and inner contents from the parwal.
  2. Boil water in a pot. Put parwal in boiling water for 2-3 minutes. Take out the parwals and keep aside.
  3. Now heat khoya in a pan, fry on low flame stirring constantly until light brown.
  4. Put Half of sugar and fry for a while. Then remove from fire and let it cool.
  5. Once cooled put sliced ​​nuts, saffron, milk powder and cardamom powder and mix.
  6. Stuff the mixture into each Parwal well and put over in a pan.
  7. In a pan put remaining(1/2 cup) sugar and pour 1/2 cup water and heat it till sugar gets dissolved completely. Cook further for 2-3 minutes till a thick syrup is formed.
  8. Now pour the syrup over the Parwals and put the pan over the gas and cook for 2 minutes. Let off the gas and let it cool.
  9. After cooling take the Parwal out of syrup and garnish with chopped pistachios and almonds and silver foil and serve.
