Kalakand | How to make kalakand ?


Ingredients: 

  • 250 g fresh cottage cheese(Paneer)
  • 200 g Khoya or condensed milk.
  • ½ cup cream
  • ½ cup milk
  • 200 g powdered sugar
  • ¼ tsp cardamom powder
  • 2 teaspoons finely chopped pistachios(Pista) or almonds(Badam)
  • 1 tbsp ghee/butter 

Method:

  1. Mash the khoya and paneer with hands and mix well
  2. Add  milk and cream and mix everything.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and put the mixture into the pan and fry on medium heat till it becomes dry. 
  4. Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool. 
  5. When the mixture is slightly hot add powdered sugar and cardamom powder in it and mix well. 
  6. Take a wide plate and grease it with ghee.Pour mixture into the plate to form a uniform layer of approx 1/2 inch thickness and garnish with the chopped almonds/pistachios.
  7. Keep in the refrigerator and allow it to cool for 2-3 hours. Once cooled take out and cut the mixture into flat cuboids.
  8. Enjoy the awsome Kalakand.
