Sweet Mango Chutney | Raw Mango Chutney | Tangy and Sweet Mango chutney


This recipe will make one small bowl of sweet & tangy chutney. It is normally an accompanient to Chat , Parathas, Puri, Samosa and Dahi Vadas. It also turns out to be kid's fav.Try this at home and enjoy the sweet & sour taste of raw green mangoes chutney.

Ingredients:

  • 1 raw Mangoe(approx 150-200 gms)
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp panch phoron (A typical mix of 5 kinds of spices, Cumin, Brown Mustard, Fenugreek, Nigella and Fennel,)
  • 2 dry red chillies
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tbps. mustard oil.
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • Salt as taste





Method:


  1. Wash & peel the mango. Cut the mango pulp into pieces.                                                               

     
  2. Heat mustard oil in a pan and put red chilly, panch phoron and bay leaves.Allow seeds to splutter.                                                                                                                                             

     
  3. Now put the mango pieces in the pan and mix well. Stir for 3-4 minutes.                                      

     
  4. When pulp start breaking, add turmeric and salt and mix well. Stir for another 2 minutes.            


  5. Now add sugar to the chutney and mix well.                                                                                    

      
  6. Cover pan/kadhai with a lid and simmer for 10 minutes or until the mango pulp is completely dissolved in the chutney and mixes with all ingredients properly.                                                            

     
  7. Serve chutney along with Dahi Vada, Chat or Paranthas.
