This recipe will make one small bowl of sweet & tangy chutney. It is normally an accompanient to Chat , Parathas, Puri, Samosa and Dahi Vadas. It also turns out to be kid's fav.Try this at home and enjoy the sweet & sour taste of raw green mangoes chutney.
Ingredients:
- 1 raw Mangoe(approx 150-200 gms)
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 tsp panch phoron (A typical mix of 5 kinds of spices, Cumin, Brown Mustard, Fenugreek, Nigella and Fennel,)
- 2 dry red chillies
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tbps. mustard oil.
- 1 tsp turmeric
- Salt as taste
Method:
- Wash & peel the mango. Cut the mango pulp into pieces.
- Heat mustard oil in a pan and put red chilly, panch phoron and bay leaves.Allow seeds to splutter.
- Now put the mango pieces in the pan and mix well. Stir for 3-4 minutes.
- When pulp start breaking, add turmeric and salt and mix well. Stir for another 2 minutes.
- Now add sugar to the chutney and mix well.
- Cover pan/kadhai with a lid and simmer for 10 minutes or until the mango pulp is completely dissolved in the chutney and mixes with all ingredients properly.
- Serve chutney along with Dahi Vada, Chat or Paranthas.
