Tomato Rice | Thakali Rice Recipe


Ingredients 


  • 1 cup Rice
  • 5-6 peeled and chopped tomatoes
  • 2 medium Onions chopped 
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 1/2 inch Ginger crushed
  • 2-3 cloves Garlic crushed
  • 2-3 cloves
  • some black pepper
  • 1/2 inch cinnamon
  • 2 cardamom
  • bay leaves
  • 2 tbsp oil

Method:


  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add dry spices (cloves, black pepper, cinnamon, cardamom, bay leaves)
  2. Add onions ,green chillies, ginger, garlic,  and salt. Fry for 5 - 10 minutes. 
  3. Add tomatoes, sauté for a while. 
  4. Add washed and drained rice, fry for 5-6 minutes over low medium heat. 
  5. Add more water and cook until rice is done.
