Ingredients:
- 2 cups fresh or frozen green peas/ Mutter
- 250 gms Paneer(Cottase Cheese) cut into cubes
- 1 medium onions cut into 4-6 parts
- 1 medium onions chopped finely
- 4-5 pods garlic (crushed)
- 1 tbsp grated or crushed ginger
- 2 green chilies (chopped)
- 250gms tomatoes (peeled and sliced)
- Salt To Taste
- 1 cup curd / plain yogurt
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp fried coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp Jeera seeds/Cumin seeds
- Garam masala powder
- 4 bay leaves
- 2 cups water
- 4 tbsp ghee / vegetable oil
To Garnish :
- Chopped coriander leaves
Method:
- Take widely cut onion, garlic , tomato and fried coriander powder and grind them to make a paste.
- If you are using frozen peas then boil the peas for 3-4 minutes and strain using strainer
- Heat the ghee/oil in a frying pan and fry the paneer to a light brown and remove paneer and keep on absorbant napkins.
- In the remaining oil/ghee in the same Kadhai , add the cumin/jeera seeds allow to splutter, put green chilly and bay leaves.
- Add the chopped onion and ginger to the ghee / oil and fry till onions turn golden brown.
- Add turmeric and fry until the ghee starts to separate.
- Put the grinded paste . mix well and cook for 5-6 minutes
- Add the paneer and mutter (peas) along with the yogurt, and salt. Stir for 6-7 minutes over low heat.
- Pour in the water and simmer gently for 15-20 minutes.
- Sprinkle Garam masala at last and stir for another minute.
- Garnish the matar paneer with coriander leaves and serve.
