Paneer Kofta | Cottase Cheese Koftachios


Ingredients:

For Koftas balls:

  • 200 gms Cottage Cheese (Paneer)
  • 2 Potatoes
  • 1/4 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Garam Masala
  • 2 tbsp Cornflour
  • Oil for frying

For Gravy:

  • 4 medium Onion 
  • 3 Tomatoes
  • Coriander Leaves (Dhania Patta) chopped finely.
  • 1/2 cup Curd (Dahi)
  • 10 Cashewnuts crushed finely.
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seed (Jeera)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric (Haldi)
  • 1/4 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 Bay Leaf (Tej Patta)
  • 2 tblsp Ghee


DIRECTION:

  1. Wash the potatoes , boil potatoes and peel them.
  2. Grate paneer and potatoes and keep aside in a bowl.
  3. Add salt, red chili powder, garam masala, cornflour in the same bowl and mix everything properly.
  4. Make round balls of this mixture.
  5. Now heat oil in a pan.
  6. Fry balls in the oil till brown in color. These are the kofta balls,
  7. Now lets work on preparing gravy. Grind onion and tomatoes together.
  8. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and bay leaf.
  9. Add onion, tomato paste and cook til it turn brownish, stirring continously.
  10. When it leaves oil add curd, cashewnut powder, salt, red chili powder, turmeric, and garam masala.
  11. Stir it continously for a 1-2 minute.
  12. Then add 2 cup of water. Put on the lid and simmer for 5 minutes.
  13. Add koftas to it and after cooking another 1 minute at low flame , switch off the flame.
  14. Let it cool and settle for few minutes.
  15. Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and serve.
