The work panchratna literaly means five gems.
When we talk about panchratna daal, its a very delicious recipe made by cooking 5 different kind of lentils/pulses together.
Each daal has its own color , texture and taste and once everything mixed together rusults to an extremely different and great combination of taste.
This is very pupolar in Parties and goes well with both chapatis and rice items.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup chana dal (split bengal gram)
1/2 cup toor or arhar dal
1/2 cup masoor dal (split red lentil)
1/2 cup moong dal (split green gram)
1/4 cup urad dal (split black lentil)
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/4 tsp chilli powder
1/2 Tablespoon coriander (dhania) powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup chopped onions
2 Tablespoon ghee
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
salt to taste
1/2 inches Ginger
5 Garlic cloves
3 Green Chillies
chopped coriander(dhania) leaves
Method:
Make a paste of ginger garlic and green chilly in blender.
Put all the daal/lentils into pressure cooker, add around 4 and 1/2 cups water, salt as per taste and turmeric powder
Pressure cook till 2 whistles in low-medium flame. (approx 12-13 minutes)
Turn off the flame, and keep pressure cooker aside. Don't take out cooker lid atleast another 5-6 minutes till the gas escapes automatically.
Heat the ghee in a kadhai and add the cumin seeds.
When the seeds spluttur add the onions and saute for 2-3 minutes.
Add the ginger garlic paste and mix well.
Add the tomatoes, mix and saute for another 2 minutes.
Then add salt Red chilly powder and coriander powder and saute for another minute.
Add the cooked dals and mix it well and cook for 6-7 minutes and add garam masala.
Cook for another 3-4 minutes.
You can garnish the daal with Chopped coriander leaves.
